Why do I love Family Mini Sessions?
One of my favorite parts of being a Quad Cities family photographer is getting to watch families grow and change over the years. Some families come into my Bettendorf photography studio for one special milestone, while others become familiar faces that I look forward to seeing year after year. The Spaulding family is one of those families that holds a special place in my heart.
I've had the privilege of photographing the Spaulding family for many years, beginning when their son, Dash, was just one year old! It's hard to believe how much time has passed since that very first session. Watching Dash grow up through my camera lens has been such a wonderful reminder of why I love what I do.
Capturing the Spaulding Family Through the Years
When I think about the families I've photographed throughout my career, it's the relationships we've built that mean the most to me.
From those early toddler days to the handsome young boy Dash is becoming, each session has captured another little chapter of the Spaulding family's story. The years seem to pass faster and faster, and that's exactly why I believe family photographs are so important.
Kids grow, personalities change, and life moves forward. I remember when we couldn't get Dash to sit still! Now he's such a well behaved young man and has grown so much! Having beautiful, professional family portraits allows us to hold on to a little piece of each season.
Their Fall 2026 family photography session was another opportunity to document this special time in their lives, and I couldn't be more grateful that they continue to choose me as their photographer.
Fall Family Photography in Bettendorf and the Quad Cities
Fall is one of the most beautiful times of year for outdoor family pictures in Eastern Iowa and the Quad Cities. The changing leaves, warm autumn colors, and soft natural light create a gorgeous backdrop for family portraits.
Whether we're photographing a family with busy toddlers, school-aged children, or teenagers, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel natural, connected, and true to who your family is right now.
As a Bettendorf, Iowa family photographer, I love helping families create portraits they'll treasure for years to come. I photograph families throughout the Quad Cities, including Bettendorf, Davenport, LeClaire, Pleasant Valley, Moline, Rock Island, and the surrounding Iowa and Illinois communities.
More Than Just Family Pictures
One of the greatest compliments I can receive as a photographer is when a family returns year after year.
It means they've trusted me not just to take beautiful photographs, but to preserve their family's memories as their children grow.
The Spaulding family has allowed me to do exactly that, starting when Dash was only a year old. It's such a privilege to be part of their story, and I never take that trust for granted.
Someday, these photographs will be more than just pictures from a beautiful fall afternoon. They'll be reminders of what life looked like in 2026, how much Dash had grown, and all those little details that change before we even realize it.
And that's what family photography is really about.
