Celebrating Baby Ignatius: A Journey from Newborn to One!

There is something profoundly special about witnessing a child’s first trip around the sun. As a photographer, one of my greatest joys is being invited into a family’s life to document those fleeting, monumental milestones. Today, I am so excited to share a look back at Baby Ignatius and his incredible first year.

I first met Ignatius when he was just a few days old—tiny, sleepy, and perfectly curled up. There is a quiet magic in those newborn sessions; the soft scent of baby powder, the delicate eyelashes, and those miniature fingers and toes. He was an absolute dream to photograph from the very beginning.


Watching Him Grow

It felt like I blinked, and suddenly those sleepy newborn poses were replaced by gummy smiles and curious eyes. Over the last twelve months, I’ve had the honor of capturing Ignatius at every major stage:

  • The Newborn Days: Capturing the pure, peaceful essence of his first week in the world.
  • The Sitter Session: Seeing his personality start to shine as he mastered the art of sitting up and discovering his own hands.
  • The Big One: Celebrating his first birthday with a session full of energy, laughter, and perhaps a little bit of attitude!


A Year of Firsts

Throughout our sessions this year, I’ve watched Ignatius transform from a fragile newborn into a bold, happy one-year-old with a personality all his own. Seeing the way his siblings look at him has remained the same, though—filled with that same awe and deep love I witnessed on day one.

Being a "milestone photographer" means more than just taking pictures; it’s about building a visual history for a family. It’s a reminder of how much can change in just 365 days.
